The G + E GETEC Holding GmbH is a German company for energy services and efficiency measures for industry and real estate. The company, headquartered in Magdeburg , employs over 1,400 people at locations in Germany and Europe. G + E GETEC Holding GmbH was founded in 2017 after the Swedish investment group EQT acquired the majority shares in the Magdeburg companies GETEC heat & power GmbH and GETEC WÄRME & EFFIZIENZ GmbH as well as other subsidiaries and affiliates of GETEC Energie Holding with the EQT Infrastructure fund GmbH acquired. Since then the o. G. Companies under the umbrella of the newly founded G + E GETEC Holding GmbH. The company offers energy services in contracting to improve efficiency and sustainability.
history
In May 1993 the GETEC Society for Energy Technology and Management was founded by Karl Gerhold. Originally the focus of the energy service provider was on the real estate industry, but in the course of the liberalization of the energy market, it expanded to include the entire range of energy services for industrial companies and the real estate industry.
In 2017, the Swedish company EQT acquired with EQT Infrastructure the majority shares in the large companies GETEC heat & power GmbH and GETEC WÄRME & EFFIZIENZ GmbH, which each represent the customer segments industry and real estate, as well as various other subsidiaries and affiliates. As a result, G + E GETEC Holding GmbH was founded as a new holding company, under whose roof the GETEC companies operate. In 2018, the company's strategic direction and positioning was renewed and a new brand identity was introduced.
The other subsidiaries GETEC ENERGIE GmbH, GETEC net GmbH and GETEC green energy GmbH remained with GETEC Energie Holding GmbH with headquarters in Hanover .
Group structure
G + E GETEC Holding GmbH unites various energy services for industry and real estate under one roof. The main shareholder is the Swedish company EQT with the EQT Infrastructure fund with around 75 percent of the company shares. GETEC Energie Holding GmbH holds just over 25 percent of the shares in G + E GETEC Holding GmbH.
With the realignment of G + E GETEC Holding GmbH, the structure of the group follows the focus on the main customer segments industry and real estate.

The management of G + E GETEC Holding GmbH consists of Group CEO Thomas P. Wagner, who is also Segment CEO Industry, Group CFO Heiko Laubheimer, Group COO Udo Lackner and Segment CEO Real Estate Michael Lowak.

The GETEC headquarters with the parent company G + E GETEC Holding GmbH is in Magdeburg. In addition, GETEC operates around 30 branches and affiliated companies and is active in a total of 11 countries. In Europe, GETEC is represented in the Netherlands, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Switzerland, Austria and Romania.

The GETEC daycare center has been open since April 2014. The day care center is a joint project of GETEC, the state capital Magdeburg and Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e. V.
