Goose fountain

The Gänsebrunnen is located on the market square in Düsseldorf's old town at the confluence with Zollstrasse. There it is built into the outer wall of the administration building Marktplatz 6 .

description

The fountain was created by Willy Meller in 1956. The green patinated group of figures shows three geese spewing water. On the left, a water snake spits onto a grate that shows the year 1956 in Latin numbers, the Düsseldorf wheel racket . The snake motif is repeated on the bottom plate, where the drain is on the right.
