Cheapest bullet distance

The cheapest bullet distance (GEE) is a term from ballistics . The GEE is a measure of the speed of a projectile . It is mainly used to describe hunting ammunition and is given in meters. It is the length of the distance between the muzzle of the firing weapon and the second passage of the line of sight through the trajectory (ballistic curve) of the projectile. A distance from the line of sight to the core axis of the barrel of 5 cm is assumed. Another condition is that the bullet does not rise more than 4 cm above the line of sight on its trajectory. The maximum "upward deviation" of 4 cm was chosen because it is believed that this can be tolerated under hunting conditions. The five centimeter difference between the line of sight and the axis of the soul comes about through the use of telescopic sights when hunting. Here you measure the center of the lens of the telescopic sight to the soul axis of the barrel.
