Günther Schalk (* 1971 ) is a German legal scholar and honorary professor for construction, public procurement and environmental law.

Life

Schalk is forensically and scientifically active, particularly in the areas of private construction law , public procurement law , architects' law , engineering law and environmental law. He studied law at the University of Augsburg from 1994 to 1998 and is a partner in a national law firm specializing in construction and public procurement law. Schalk has been a specialist lawyer for building and architectural law since 2005 . In 2007 he received his PhD from the University of Augsburg. jur. His dissertation deals with the effects of ancillary offers in terms of building award and building contract law . He is the director of the Academy for Construction Management akabau at the Deggendorf Technical University (THD). Schalk has been a lecturer since 2008 and honorary professor for construction, procurement and environmental law in the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Technical University of Deggendorf (THD) since 2018 and was a lecturer for construction and procurement law at the Faculty of Law in the 2015/16 winter semester from the Humboldt University of Berlin. Since 2017 he has been a lecturer for building and public procurement law at the Technical University of Hamburg (TUHH).

Schalk has published several specialist publications on building and procurement law topics, including a. the “Handbook of Additional Offers” (Werner-Verlag, 2008).

Schalk is a member of the German Construction Court Conference and works nationwide as a speaker and lecturer on building and public procurement law. Since July 2010 he has been the part-time editor-in-chief of the magazine Unternehmerbrief Bauwirtschaft UBB at Verlag Ernst & Sohn, Berlin. He works as a specialist author and works nationwide as a speaker and lecturer for building and public procurement lectures, training courses and seminars.

Schalk is a trained editor and spokesman for radio and television and has worked full-time and part-time for radio for several years. In 1991 and 1992 he was awarded the Bavarian Radio Prize by the State Institute for New Media in Bavaria. As deputy district chairman of the Bavarian Red Cross, district association Neuburg-Schrobenhausen, Schalk is jointly responsible for the medical and rescue service in his home region.
