Belt loop

(Blue) jeans belt loop

A belt loop is a narrow band made of the material of the garment that is sewn vertically - or diagonally for fashion reasons - to the waistband. It should hold the belt , which is pushed through the space between the loop and the waistband, tightly on the waistband so that it cannot slip.

Almost every pair of pants has belt loops. A disadvantage of the belt loops is that the belt (especially with leather and imitation leather belts) is rolled up on the back when sitting or bending down. However, it should be noted that a belt that is not fastened with belt loops easily forfeits its holding function and only serves aesthetic purposes.
