G3 (IMC geriatrics)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

G3 (also IMC - geriatrics ) refers to a department or care unit within a hospital. The G3 is the link between the intensive care unit with its extensive therapeutic and intensive care facilities and the normal geriatric unit. The G3 mainly serves to relieve the intensive care unit. This is necessary due to the rapidly increasing number of geriatric patients with serious disorders of vital functions , caused by exacerbations of chronic diseases and multimorbidity . The G3 offers options such as monitor monitoring , perfusor therapy and non-invasive ventilation .

Little is known about the origins of IMC geriatrics. Today's G3 concept as part of holistic medicine goes back to a German - Indonesian team of doctors.
