G6 (European Union)
The G6 in the European Union is an unofficial association of the six most populous EU countries: Germany , France , Great Britain , Italy , Poland and Spain . The group strives for close cooperation, especially on security issues.
With the admission of Poland , the G5 expanded into today's G6. The G6 should not be confused with the “Group of Six” , a forerunner of today's “ Group of Seven ” ( G8 until March 2014).
