GEA - later GEA / Waldviertler - is an Austrian trading and production company based in Vienna that sells shoes, furniture, natural mattresses, bags and accessories. The company was founded by Heinrich Staudinger and has 44 branches in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. The company also includes GEA Verlag, which publishes the magazine Brennsto ff and the GEA album, as well as the GEA Academy, a seminar company in Schrems .

history

Heinrich Staudinger founded a shoe shop in Vienna in 1980, where he sold shoes from the Danish brand Earth Shoe . Later he took part in the Waldviertel shoe workshop in Schrems , which develops, manufactures and repairs Waldviertel shoes and other products.

The company GEA developed from the shoe store in Vienna. Today in the GEA stores mainly Waldviertler shoes and Waldviertler bags; also sells GEA furniture, natural mattresses and accessories. The products are sold by direct mail, in factory sales and as part of in-house exhibitions in Schrems, but also in a further 27 GEA stores in Austria, 16 GEA stores in Germany and one GEA store in Switzerland (March 2015).

GEA Academy

The GEA Academy is the seminar operation in the premises of the Waldviertel shoe workshop. There are several seminar rooms and guest rooms in the company building. There are regular seminars, u. a. from the subject areas of health, music and handicrafts.

GEA publishing house

The GEA Verlag publishes the Brennsto ff magazine and the GEA album, an advertising sheet for Waldviertel shoes, GEA furniture and other products available from GEA.
