The GIT ( G read - I nstrumenten - T echnology) is a trademark of the publisher John Wiley & Sons, based in Weinheim , which specializes in the publication of titles in the areas of laboratory technology, chemistry, automation and health. The publisher publishes around 40 titles.

history

The publishing house was founded in 1969 by Ernst HW Giebeler. Giebeler, a glassmaker by nature, initially limited himself to titles for the laboratory area, but in the 1970s he developed additional books for the fields of microbiology and health. In the 1980s, titles were added on the subjects of the environment, measurement technology and management. Since 2002, the company has been part of Wiley's German subsidiary, Wiley-VCH - and has been an integral part of the international publishing group John Wiley & Sons ever since .

The publisher is a member of the German Book Trade Association .
