The GNAT Modified General Public License is a version of the GNU General Public License that has been specially adapted to the needs of GNAT . The modification takes into account the fact that the Ada compiler is able to embed external generic types in its own computer program. In the Ada programming language Generic types for parameterization of software packages used.
The modification only includes the following text:
- As a special exception, if other files instantiate generics from this unit, or you link this unit with other files to produce an executable, this unit does not by itself cause the resulting executable to be covered by the GNU General Public License. This exception does not however invalidate any other reasons why the executable file might be covered by the GNU Public License.
The compiler instruction pragma License (Modified_GPL);initializes the built-in license check function of the compiler.
