GPSS ( G eneral P urpose S imulation S ystem) is a programming language for the simulation of queuing network models (such. As manufacturing processes).

The language was developed by Geoffrey Gordon in 1961. Nowadays it only plays a subordinate role. Nevertheless, there is still appropriate software for today's architectures.
