Fork (heraldry)
The fork as a coat of arms figure in heraldry , the dung, hay and digging fork as an agricultural tool is a popular symbol in the coat of arms . Despite the different uses of these fork types, the representation in the coat of arms is quite uniform, tine blade with the corresponding number of tines on the long handle. The coloring can be used without restriction according to the heraldic tinging . Silver and gold is a preferred color scheme. It is important to indicate the tines in the description of the coat of arms, since this number differs from two to “very many” and is an important distinguishing feature. Often a fork / fork is crossed with other agricultural implements in the manner of a St. Andrew's cross . The heraldic figure is only shown with the tine in the coat of arms. Tines pointing after the shield head are a common representation. Forks pointing towards the base of the shield must be mentioned in the description of the coat of arms .
