Gabriel Romanus
Lars Gabriel Romanus (born January 25, 1939 in Helsingborg ) is a Swedish politician of the Folkpartiet liberalerna ( People's Party The Liberals ).
Romanus was Minister of Social Affairs from 1978 to 1979 and Member of the Swedish Parliament from 1969 to 1982 and from 2002 to 2006. He was spokesman for the Swedish delegation to the Nordic Council and the Swedish Children's Book Institute . He was President of the Nordic Council in 2004. As Minister of Social Affairs, he belonged to the government at the same time as his uncle, Justice Minister Sven Romanus .
Gabriel Romanus was chairman of the board of the Systembolaget from 1982 to 1999. For many years he worked towards a restrictive alcohol policy in Sweden .
