Gaius Ateius

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gaius Ateius was a late Republic Roman jurist . He belonged to the circle of students of Servius Sulpicius Rufus . Little is known about his family ties. However, research assumes that he did not belong to the familia of the Ateii Capitones and was therefore not related to the famous lawyer Gaius Ateius Capito .

His name appears several times in the digests , where he is always only called Ateius, in contrast to Gaius Ateius Capito.
