Gaius Aurelius Atilianus

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gaius Aurelius Atilianus was a member of the Roman knighthood ( Eques ) living in the 2nd century AD .

An inscription found in Cluj-Napoca shows that Gaius Aurelius Atilianus was procurator Augusti . Through two military diplomas , e.g. Some of them are dated July 21, 164, it is documented that an Aurelius Atilianus 164 was commander of the Ala Siliana , which was stationed in the province of Dacia Porolissensis at that time . Presumably it is the same person, as there is evidence in other cases that a commander of the Ala Siliana was appointed procurator of the province of Dacia Porolissensis .
