Gaius Sulpicius Galba (Consul 22)
Gaius Sulpicius Galba († around 36 AD) was the son of the suffect consul of the same name 5 BC. Chr. And the older brother of the future emperor Galba .
Little is known about his life apart from his regular consulate in AD 22. Suetonius reports that after wasting his fortune, he left Rome and applied for the proconsulate in AD 36 to get some money. However, he was prevented from doing so by Emperor Tiberius , who proceeded against such governors who only worked towards increasing their property. Shortly thereafter, he is said to have committed suicide.
