The gallows ( raven chair ) stood on the Eilerberg near the town of Eilern . The court with gallows and wheel belonged to the Lord of Westphalia. There the death sentences of the court of Fürstenberg were carried out. Since the place of justice was on a mountain and some trade routes ran not far from there, those sentenced to death were visible from afar. This should serve as a deterrent to crime.

Today a wooden gallows and a plaque remind of the former gallows site. The board reads: The gallows - the place of execution of the Sintfeld . In 1729 5 robbers of a gang from Hesse were hanged and whacked at this court for the murder of a farmer in Fürstenberg. The last time a Johannes Schmidt from Meerhof was knotted here in 1786. The gallows and wheel were cut down in 1807.
