Gallstone (comic)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gallenstein is a 7-part German comic series by Philipp Zippermayr (author) and Günther Mayrhofer (born November 17, 1949 ; draftsman), which was published by Bavaria Comic Verlag from 1980 to 1983.

The comic is about the experiences of Professor Gallenstein, who wants to produce gold and who is in a dispute with his competitor Pöplmann about whether the pot with the potion should be shaken or not. This question, which Gallenstein cannot clarify even at the alchemist's congress in the fictional Spanish town of La Paloma, allows Professor Gallenstein and his friends to get around (Zipflburg (another fictional German small town in the 16th century), Mayas , Incas , Japan , Tyrol and Rome ).

Albert Uderzo saw in the comics too close a reference to Asterix and filed a copyright lawsuit, which led to Bavaria Comic Verlag having to change the cover design after a court settlement. After seven volumes, the series, which according to Andreas C. Knigge contained " hair-raising and humorous adventures ", had to be discontinued due to poor sales figures.
