The Gambia Congress Party (GCP) was a political party in Gambia .

history

Political differences between Ibrahima Momodou Garba-Jahumpa and Reverend John Colley Faye and led to the dissolution of the Democratic Congress Alliance . Garba-Jahumpa continued his path in the Gambia Congress Party, which was newly founded in October 1962, the rest of the DCA joined the People's Progressive Party (PPP) in 1965 .

The party was dissolved in 1968, its member in the House of Representatives, Garba-Jahumpa, switched to the PPP.

From January 1964 the party brought out the newspaper " African unity ".
