The gandzasar monastery stadium ( Armenian Գանձասար ) is a multifunctional stadium in Kapan , Armenia . It is mainly used for football matches and is the home stadium of Gandsassar Kapan . It has a capacity of 3,500 people. It is located in the center of the town of Kapan, on the left bank of the Voghji, between Aram Manukian and Hovhannes Tumanyan streets.
history
The stadium was built in 1963 under the name Lernagorts Stadium as the home of FC Lernagorts Kapan . It remained in the possession of the city administration until 2004. Then it was privatized and sold to the former president of FC Gandzasar Kapan Garnik Ohanjanyan. At the end of 2008 the stadium was modernized.
