GanttProject is a free application for project planning written in Java . The main functionalities include a. Gantt chart , resource management and creation of reports as well as import / export of MS Project , HTML and PDF . It also includes group functions via WebDAV and data exchange with spreadsheet programs.
So far, the methods of network planning can only be used to a limited extent. GanttProject also displays PERT diagrams, however, for example, buffer times, earliest and latest start and end times etc. cannot yet be calculated.
Java Runtime Environment from Sun 1.6 or higher is required to run the tool , so the program can also be started via Java Web Start .
An open source Java API is available with which developers can read and write the Gantt charts generated.
