Gao County

Gao is the name of a district (French cercle de Gao ) in the Gao region of the same name in Mali .

The district is divided into seven parishes: Gao (main town), Anchawadi , Gabero , Gounzoureye , N'Tillit , Sony Aliber and Tilemsi .

The population was 239,853 at the 2009 census, covering an area of ​​31,250 km².
