Gap Year (stage of life)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gap Year ( Engl. "Gap year") refers to the period between two important stages of life of young people.

Typical examples of a gap year are the time after graduating from high school , during studies (e.g. between Bachelor and Master’s degree ) or after successfully completing a degree. Gap-year-like breaks of several months result e.g. B. also after dropping out of studies up to starting an apprenticeship, a job, another degree or even an au pair stay within a family, be it at home or abroad.

The main purpose of the gap year is to try out new things, travel, learn languages, explore the world and gain experience before focusing on your longer-term professional career. There are hardly any limits to the way you can organize your gap year. From an au pair stay to internships to work & travel , a study generale or a voluntary social year , everything is possible. The period is also not necessarily set to one year.
