Manfred Maute
Manfred Maute (born October 15, 1939 in Tailfingen ) is a former German art cyclist and trainer.
Success as an athlete
From 1964 to 1972 Manfred Maute was active as an art cyclist in single art cycling; he was world champion three times - in 1968, 1971 and 1972 - , four times vice world champion and once third and four times German champion .
Activity as a trainer
From 1972 to 2003 Maute was a state trainer, initially on a fee basis, from 1986 as the first full-time trainer in artistic cycling at the BDR State Association of Baden-Württemberg , where he systematically built up the sport in the following years. Under his aegis, athletes and juniors won 185 medals, including 50 gold medals in the elite class at world championships.
His son Dieter Maute was also a five-time world champion and is now a national coach himself. In 1997, father and son made educational films for artistic cycling together, which were recognized as official teaching material by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and introduced by the UCI on an international level - also in English. From 1999 to 2009 Manfred Maute was an instructor for the Association of German Cyclists and was therefore responsible for training and further education for coaches, and he continues to hold this position in Baden-Württemberg. It is due to Maute's commitment that Albstadt became an international training center of the UCI.
Honors
Manfred Maute received numerous honors, for example in 1996 Manfred Maute was the first to receive the LSV-GEK trainer award for outstanding work with young talent, in 2009 he was again awarded this award for his life's work. In December 1971 he was awarded the Silver Bay Leaf . In July 2012 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit with ribbon.
