Dieter Maute

Dieter Maute (born June 21, 1967 in Tailfingen ) is a former German artistic cyclist and today's trainer.

Dieter Maute was five times world champion in single art driving , 1986, 1987, 1993, 1994 and 1995, three times he was runner-up world champion. He was also three times European junior champion and six times German champion.

In 1995 Maute resigned from active cycling, studied sports science and graduated in 1996 as a qualified sports pedagogue. Until 2002 he was in charge of medical training therapy at the Reutlingen Therapy and Analysis Center. From 1997, together with his father Manfred Maute , who was then a national trainer, he created educational films for art cycling, which were introduced as official teaching material by the World Cycling Association Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). In 2003 he succeeded his father Manfred Maute as the Württemberg regional trainer and shortly afterwards, until 2011, together with his father, he became a BDR instructor for artistic cycling and national trainer.

Dieter Maute developed an exercise called a toll jump . The athlete, who is standing with both feet on the bicycle saddle, jumps forward into the steering wheel position. In 1993 the jump was included in the UCI regulations.

In 1990 Dieter Maute received the Silver Laurel Leaf . In 2010 he was named “Trainer of the Year” by the State Sports Association of Baden-Württemberg (LSV).
