Kurt Hunsänger

Kurt Hunsänger (born January 21, 1950 in Elz ) is a former German art cyclist and was a board member of Energieversorgung Offenbach AG from 1998 to 2015 .

Success as an athlete

Since 1962 a member of the Elz 1912 eV cycling club, Kurt Hunsänger became world champion in men's single art cycling for the first time in 1976 in Münster . This success was followed by two further world championship titles in 1977 and 1978. In the previous years he was able to win the European youth championship and two vice world championship titles. He was also German (vice) champion several times .

Life and work

In addition to his career as an athlete, Hunsänger studied mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen University . He completed his studies in 1979 and received his doctorate four years later as a Dr.-Ing. After leading positions in the technical works in Stuttgart and the municipal works in Hamm , Hunsänger was appointed Chief Technology Officer of Energieversorgung Offenbach AG in 1998. He retired at the end of January 2015.

Hunsänger is also involved in various social and cultural projects and is, for example, the founder of the duck race in Offenbach am Main .

Awards

Hunsänger was awarded the “ Silver Laurel Leaf ” for his achievements as an artistic cyclist .
