The Technical Works of the City of Stuttgart AG (TWS) were an energy supply company based in Stuttgart .
history
The TWS was created on May 1, 1933 through the merger of the municipal electricity, gas and water works. The city of Stuttgart was supplied with electricity , gas , district heating and drinking water . The TWS also operated the street lighting in Stuttgart, Marbach am Neckar, Poppenweiler and Mundelsheim. The towns of Marbach am Neckar and Poppenweiler , which do not belong to Stuttgart , and, until 1985, Mundelsheim , were also supplied with electricity .
On January 1, 1997, the Technical Works of the City of Stuttgart AG merged with Neckarwerke Elektrizitätsversorgungs-AG in Esslingen am Neckar to form Neckarwerke Stuttgart AG (NWS).
