Guard Hussar Regimentet
The Gardehusarregimentet is a regiment of the Danish army , which is still called the cavalry regiment today. Together with Den Kongelige Livgarde , it forms the guard of the Danish royal family . It is comparable to the British Household Cavalry . The regiment's garrison is in Slagelse .
history
In the course of a restructuring of the Danish army, the regiment was united in 2001 with the two infantry regiments Sjællandske Livregiment (Zealand body regiment) and Danske Livregiment (Danish body regiment ) while retaining its name. Since the merger, the regiment has been the oldest active hussar regiment in the world: The original Guard Hussar regiment was not formed until 1762; the incorporated Seeländische Leibregiment goes back to the year 1612.
The regiment wears uniforms based on the pattern from 1880 for the parade.

Today the Guard Hussar Regiment is a mixed association, which is divided into five battalions :
- 1st Battalion: Panzer Grenadiers
- 2nd Battalion: Panzer Grenadiers
- III. Battalion: Tank Reconnaissance (Bornholm)
- IV. Battalion: INTOPS training
