The gari is a sword from Indonesia .
description
The Gari has a slightly curved, single-edged blade. The blade widens slightly from the handle to the location . The back of the blade is slightly convex , the edge is concave . The place is slightly curved in an S-shape, the back of the blade being longer than the cutting edge. The handle has no guard , it is made of wood or horn and is split in the pommel area. The two ends of the knob are bent wide apart, between them a metal spike is attached in the knob, which is bent and spherical at the end. The sheaths are made of wood and are in two parts. The two halves are wrapped with rattan ribbons for fastening . The scabbard is curved at the location area. On the upper side of the scabbard is a kind of knot made of plant fibers into which “ magic ” objects are incorporated. The Gari is similar to the Balato , which comes from the same island. The Gari is used by ethnic groups from Indonesia.
