Gasthaus Ritter in Wiedergeltingen

The Gasthaus Ritter in the community of Wiedergeltingen in the district of Unterallgäu ( Bavaria ) is a listed building from the 18th century. The two-storey gable roof house has profiled eaves , gable base and verge cornices. The windows on the ground floor are partially arched. The wrought iron bracket on the southeast corner dates from around 1800 and has the monogram JMR . Next to it is an eagle head and a double eagle shield on which the monogram JR (Josef Ritter) is embedded. On the eastern side of the gable is a relief coat of arms of the Ritter family made of bronze . The property, an inn with a transformer station, was formerly part of the Steingaden Monastery and has been family-owned since secularization. In 1811 a brewery was built next to the inn, which was in operation until 1999 and today contains newly renovated old apartments. A marble plaque above the main entrance contains the inscription: Erbaut / von / Josef u. Maria / knight / anno / 1880.
