Gasthaus zum Schex

The Gasthaus zum Schex is a restaurant in a historic building in St. Wolfgang ( Upper Bavaria ).

history

The building, which once belonged to the Canons' Monastery, was built in the 16th century. In the 19th century the property was acquired by Josef Schex, whose name the inn still bears today. Sebastian Silbernagl bought the house in 1895, which is now in the 4th generation of the family.

A special feature of cultural history is the heavy, late Gothic beamed ceiling in the dining room, where court was previously held. The inscription on the ceiling beam from 1756 reads: O judge judge right. God is Lord and you are a servant, no matter how you human being will judge me here, God will also judge you there . The corner floor bay and the stitch floor friezes are also to be emphasized.

The inn has several halls and guest rooms.
