Gas year

The gas business year (GWJ) forms the basis of numerous contracts for natural gas deliveries and the booking of transmission capacities with the transmission system operators . The gas year is the period from October 1, 06:00 a calendar year to October 1, 06:00 of the following calendar year ( § 2 of the Gas Network Charges Ordinance , z. B. from 1 October 200 1 to October 1 200 2 ). This regulation has become established in the gas industry, since the heating season traditionally begins on October 1st with increased natural gas demand.
