Gata's parliament
Gatas Parlament (Parliament of the Street) is a Norwegian rap group . It consists of the brothers Elling and Aslak Borgersrud and the DJ Don Martin. Gata's parliament is a left-wing band, and their political views are also reflected in their texts.
history
Gata's parliament began in 1993 with the brothers Elling and Aslak. The two initially called themselves Kveldens Høydpunkt (highlight of the evening). The DJ Don Martin joined them later. The following day the three met to throw eggs and rotten tomatoes at Carl I. Hagen from the Fremskrittspartiet (right-wing party) who was trying to give a speech. Hagen then said that it was probably the Parliament of the Street that governed the country and so the name was found.
Controversy
Gatas Parlament ensured together with the Swedish rapper Promoe with their video to Antiamerikansk Dans (anti-American dance) and to the video associated side killhim.nu (Kill him now), which put a premium on the murder of George Walker Bush exposed, a lot of attention . The US embassy in Norway reacted and the site was taken offline. However, the video is available for download on the band's homepage.
