Gatorland
Gatorland is a reptile - zoo about 20 km south of Orlando , Florida area.
The park was opened by Owen Godwin under the name Florida Wildlife Institute in 1949 , long before Walt Disney World settled near Orlando. In 1954 the park was renamed Gatorland . The park, which has always been privately operated by the Godwin family, has an area of around 44 hectares in 2007. The trademark of Gatorland is the park entrance, which was inaugurated in 1964 as a giant alligator's mouth.
Several hundred alligators, crocodiles and snakes can be seen in the park. After continuous expansion, the following areas can be visited in the park:

- Gatorland's Very Merry Aviary (Parrots)
- Allies Barnyard (petting zoo)
- Jungle Crocs (crocodiles)
- Breeding March & Bird Rookery (breeding ground for alligators and birds with swamp and observation tower)
- Swamp Walk (footbridge walk through the swamp)
- Gator Gully Splash Park (water park)
- Gift Shop (souvenir shop)
In addition, various shows such as "Gator Wrestlin", "Gator Jumparoo" and "Upclose Encounters" are held several times a day.
