Gaudry
Gaudry († April 25, 1112 in Laon ) was slain as Bishop of Laon in the Laon uprising .
He was paid by the citizens of the city of Laon for his approval of a communal constitution that had been negotiated by his representatives in his absence. In 1112 he had this charter from King Ludwig VI. abolish it again by offering him more than the citizens of the city for the approval of this charter. He wanted to raise the financial outlay for this higher bid by means of a tax that he wanted to impose on the citizens. He was then killed in a riot.
The charter was in 1128 by Ludwig VI. partially re-enacted.
