Gauradas
Gauradas Epigrammaticus ( ancient Greek Γαυράδας ) was an ancient poet and author of an elaborate poem in iambic trimeters in the form of a dialogue between Echo and her lover. The epigram handed down by him in the Anthologia Palatina (16,152) is one of the earliest and best known examples of an echo poem . The subject is dealt with several times in the Anthologia Palatina , for example by Archias (9.27), Euodos (16.155), Satyros (16.153) and an anonymous poet (16.156). No further details are known about the poet. Possibly he was a Byzantine of the 5th or 6th century. His name suggests a barbaric origin.
