Gawdat al-Malt

Gawdat al-Malt is an Egyptian economist . He is the head of the Central Auditing Agency (CAA). Reports of January 31, 2011 that he will become part of President Mubarak's new cabinet as finance minister , he denied in an interview on al-Arabiya . He is known among the population for repeatedly protesting against corruption in the country.

Al-Malt studied public law and political economy at the University of Cairo . He received his doctorate in public law in 1967. He later worked as legal advisor to the Crown Prince in the United Arab Emirates .
