GeLa Ochsenherz is a solidarity agriculture (Solawi) in Gänserndorf north of Vienna in Lower Austria . GeLa stands for "farming together". GeLa Ochsenherz was the first solidarity farm in Austria and provides around 300 members with fresh organic vegetables every week.

history

The ox heart was Gärtnerhof than 2,002 Demeter founded -Gemüseanbaubetrieb and sold by 2010 his vegetables on Wiener markets. It is named after the flagship variety ox heart .

In 2011 the company was transformed into the first solidarity agriculture in Austria as GeLa Ochsenherz.

In 2014, GeLa Ochsenherz became a joint association of the owner, the employees and the so-called harvest dividers. The harvest dividers, the consuming members, raise the financial resources of the company and voluntarily take on tasks free of charge.

The GeLa Ochsenherz association has been the owner and operator of the farm since 2018, and the company buildings and infrastructure are part of the founding property of the non-profit Munus Foundation - soil for good living . This was set up by people from and around Gela ox heart into being in 2019, to make a contribution to protecting the natural resources and people as commons ( Commons ) make accessible.
