The house of the Federal Press Conference is the seat of the association of the same name in Berlin . The new building was inaugurated on May 8, 2000.

The building is located on the Kronprinzenbrücke opposite the parliament buildings in the Spreebogen . It was built according to plans by the architects Nalbach + Nalbach . The inner courtyard, spanned by a glass roof, functions as the lobby of the press room, which can be reached via a large flight of stairs, with its characteristic large panorama window protruding from the facade.

The house is equipped with modern communication technology. It also hosts the Bundespressekonferenz e.V. V. organized political reporters, primarily the print media.

A bistro / restaurant is also open to the public.

There is also a conference center with several function rooms on the ground floor of the house. This area does not belong to the federal press conference and can be rented.

Former seat

In Bonn , the federal press conference was housed in the six-storey “ press house ” in the tulip field . The conferences from October 27, 1967 to August 4, 1999 were held in the adjoining hall, which was glazed on both long sides. The identification mark of the Federal Press Conference was a meter-high rosewood wall with squares .
