Territory
A territorial status describes a geographically mostly contiguous area in which the sphere of activity of an administrative unit is located.
Territories can change as a result of:
- Local reforms
- Territorial assignments as agreed between (mostly) neighboring administrative units
- unilateral integration of foreign territory ( annexation )
The designation of a territory requires not only the name of the administrative unit but also the time or period in question.
