The origins of GMG go back to the cabinet maker Georg Müller, which delivered individual parts for aircraft to August Euler as early as 1911/1912 . His sons Jacob and Philipp took over their father's workshop in 1920 and began building their own glider designs in 1924. From 1927 to 1930, 17 motorized light aircraft were also manufactured under the brand name “Gebrüder Müller Griesheim”.

The best-known model was the GMG II. The aircraft was demonstrated in flight at the International Aviation Exhibition (ILA) in Berlin in October 1928 . The pilot was Arthur Martens.
