Mednoye memorial

The Mednoye Memorial ( Russian Государственный мемориальный комплекс "Медное" ) is a Russian state memorial. It is located northwest of the village of Mednoye , south of its hamlet Jamok (Russian Ямок ), in a wooded area on the left bank of the Tverza . It was opened in 2000.

Here is the former site of the NKVD with mass graves of victims of the Great Terror - from the years 1937 to 1938 - as well as some of the victims of the mass murders of Polish citizens in 1940 .
