The memorial stone Freiherr von Oeynhausen is a memorial stone for the baron Karl von Oeynhausen in the spa park Bad Oeynhausen .

history

Baron Karl von Oeynhausen had the first thermal brine spring drilled at Rehme in the area of ​​today's Bad Oeynhausen in East Westphalia between 1830 and 1845 . The spring he found was of the Artesian spring type . With the establishment of a regular bathing establishment, he laid the foundation for the development of the spa town of Bad Oeynhausen , which was named after Karl von Oeynhausen.

The memorial stone, donated by a spa guest in 1886, was moved to its current location in the spa gardens of Bad Oeynhausen in 1965 to mark the 100th anniversary of the death of Berghauptmann Karl von Oeynhausen.
