Uribana prison

The prison Uribana located in the State of Lara in Venezuela . It was built in 2000 for 850 people, currently it has at least 1,427 people.

The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights reported that fights between prisoners for an audience are regularly organized in this prison. This practice is called "the Colosseum". In 2010 at least 4 inmates died and more than 113 were injured. In 2012 the New York Times also reported on the situation in this prison.

In January 2013, at least 61 people were killed in unrest.
