Countercurrent process (management)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The countercurrent process (also countercurrent principle, English mixed planning or top-down / bottom-up planning ) is a process for developing company goals and for planning in companies . First of all, preliminary overarching goals are formulated by the management level. These goals are then broken down by the subordinate levels, checked for feasibility and specified. With the resulting suggestions for improvement and change, this information goes back to the management level, where the comparison and coordination of these partial goals or plans takes place.

The countercurrent method thus represents a staggered combination of top-down and bottom-up planning and tries to combine the advantages of both approaches.
