The Gehrenbach reservoir is a reservoir in Schwerte .

The lake, built in 1977 in the east of the town of Schwerte, is actually a rainwater retention basin. This has a pool volume of 91,500 m³. About 35,000 m³ of this basin capacity are created as a permanent backlog.

An upstream pre-pond belongs to the hydraulic structure. This was extensively renovated in 2004.

The eponymous Gehrenbach , a left tributary of the Ruhr, is dammed .
