Hermann von Schillingsfürst

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hermann von Schillingsfürst was counter-bishop in Eichstätt in 1232 .

origin

Hermann came from the noble family Schillingsfürst, named after the place Schillingsfürst , today a town in the Central Franconian district of Ansbach .

Life

Hermann von Schillingsfürst was first canon of Bamberg . He was elected bishop by part of the Eichstätter cathedral chapter . Another part opted for Henry III. from Ravensburg , which ultimately prevailed. However, Hermann was initially from the Mainz Metropolitan under Bishop Siegfried III. confirmed by Eppstein . Hermann then went to Rome to personally assert his rights there. Henry III. sent Engelhard von Dolling to these negotiations and was summoned personally in December 1232. The result of the negotiations can only be indirectly through the fact that Heinrich III. then acted as a bishop.
