List of the Bamberg canons
The list of Bamberg canons contains a selection of Bamberg canons up to secularization . Clerics in the Bamberg diocese often held several church offices. Canons are also known as bishops or prince-bishops of Bamberg (see list of archbishops and bishops of Bamberg ). Several clergymen are also represented as bishops in the diocese of Würzburg (see list of the bishops of Würzburg ). The members of the cathedral chapter come only from noble families, some also from Franconia (see also list of Franconian knight families ).
