Adam Senger (born June 20, 1860 in Döringstadt , † March 17, 1935 in Bamberg ) was auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Bamberg .

Life

After attending the old grammar school in Bamberg, where he graduated from high school with distinction in 1878, he studied theology in Bamberg . Ordained priest of the Archdiocese of Bamberg on October 22, 1882, he then worked as a chaplain in Hausen , Memmelsdorf , Fürth , Lichtenfels and Kronach . Appointed by Archbishop Joseph von Schork in 1891 as vicar and cathedral preacher at Bamberg Cathedral, he resigned from this position in 1893 and went to Rome from 1893 to 1895 , where he received his doctorate in canon law. From 1895 he was a high school teacher at the old grammar school in Bamberg. He has also taught at the Bamberg New High School since 1905 . In 1902 he was appointed canon of the Archdiocese of Bamberg and in 1911 appointed Vicar General of the Archdiocese by Archbishop Friedrich Philipp von Abert .

Pope Pius X appointed Senger on December 2, 1912, titular bishop of Comana Armeniae and auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Bamberg. Archbishop Johann Jakob von Hauck donated his episcopal ordination to him on January 12, 1913 .
