Johannes Lenhardt

Johannes Lenhardt (born January 28, 1899 in Cham ; † April 21, 1966 ) was a German clergyman.

Lenhardt was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Bamberg on April 6, 1924 .

From 1936 to 1946 he was director of the Ottonianum . During this time he also came into conflict with the National Socialist leadership.

Pope John XXIII appointed him on April 6, 1959 titular bishop of Carystus and auxiliary bishop in Bamberg. The Archbishop of Bamberg, Josef Schneider, donated to him on 25 July 1959 with the assistance of Josef Hiltl , Auxiliary Bishop of Regensburg , and Joseph Zimmermann , Auxiliary Bishop of Augsburg , the episcopal ordination . His motto was Omnibus omnia fieri (“All will be for everyone”, according to 1 Cor 9:22  EU ). He participated in all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
